What to pack

Here is the list so you don’t forget anything before your departure to the Seychelles

Packing is always a dilemma isn’t it? Do I wear this or do I not wear it? And then we find ourselves on vacation with too much stuff or we even forget something.

So today I want to talk to you about what to pack before leaving.

Departure for the Seychelles fixed! Work, family and time is always short, therefore, a first piece of advice that I can give you is to always make a list of what you absolutely must not forget so as not to forget anything …

In addition to your personal effects, toothbrush, toothpaste, creams and creams, here is the list!

  • It is essential to be in possession of a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity. A visa is not required but to date to enter the Seychelles you will have to fill in the GOVTAS (you can do it 72 hours before departure);
  • the most suitable clothing during your holiday in the Seychelles is undoubtedly sporty and informal; in the evening in several hotels it is advisable to wear long trousers for men. But do I have to wear a shirt for the evening? It is not cold in the evening but maybe if you are a little chilly a scarf that takes up little space bring it.
  • sunglasses;
  • a hat especially for children, even I made my children wear an elastic surf shirt, because having white skin like a ghost at least I was sure they didn’t get sunstroke;
  • sun protection creams, I highly recommend buying high protection if your skin is not already tanned, because the sun is strong even if it is cloudy.
  • flashlight (cell phone is fine too) because in the Seychelles the streets are poorly lit or even dark and since at 18:30 it is dark maybe if you want to go to the shop to buy something you need, on your walk the people in the car will see you;
  • for snorkelers mask, fins, snorkel and rubber shoes, because in the Seychelles there are many beaches where you can see colorful fish or even turtles;
  • advice for smokers and to bring pocket ashtrays, so you don’t throw your butts in the sand. We do not pollute.
  • for families with small children who are still used to having a practical afternoon sleep, it is the tent that you can also find at Decathlon so you can take a nice nap. In the Seychelles they do not rent deck chairs and umbrellas. Be careful not to stay under the palm trees because I would never want a coconut to fall on your head;
  • anti mosquitoes spray, so as not to let these small blood-thirsty insects eat you;
  • a great idea is to bring a small cooler bag with or without popsicles, so that you can have cold drinks to drink on the beach throughout the day;
  • microfiber beach towel, excellent because they dry quickly and if by chance you have dozed off and a wave reaches you getting wet, you can wash it and the next day it will be fresh and clean (it also takes up little space in your suitcase);
  • only if you are Italian mocha and coffee, if you can’t give up the smell of coffee in the morning. Ideal for those staying in guest houses or villas with kitchens. If, on the other hand, you are staying in a Resort, there will certainly be a coffee machine. (Tip: when you order a coffee at a restaurant, underline short = short, otherwise they’ll fill your cup);
  • bring a second mobile phone so when you are in the Seychelles you can buy a local SIM from Airtel or Cable & Wireless and use it when you are outside the hotel. A message from the Seychelles to your destination costs only 1 Rupee, however, on the contrary it depends on your operator but still around 0.40 cents per message. The useful thing about having a SIM in the Seychelles is that your loved ones can call you by buying prepaid cards, for example I use the EDICARD Sisal “Africa Card” and you will spend little. Obviously with the WI-FI you can use Whatsapp. I remind you that to call the Seychelles the prefix is +248 followed by the number, (always put the + instead of 00 because sometimes the messages are not sent);
  • one or more sockets for connecting electronic instruments. The Seychelles were a colony of the British crown so there are three sockets as in the photo below;
  • cash that you can change once you arrive at the Mahè airport on your right as you exit the sliding doors, but also the card and credit cards that you can use in case of car rental.

It is convenient to withdraw at the ATM rather than change cash given the exchange fee.

If your holiday in the Seychelles is going to be dynamic, don’t go around with too much money!

I hope I have not forgotten anything !!!
